great kit with smart improvements in the 2.0 version
This is a great kit. The 2.0 flat cables (aka "belts) do not interfere with the brick-heavy construction of the Titanic. The lighting effects lead to an adult, rather than "toy-like" effect. The lack of lights in the interior (like the prior version) avoids undesirable light leakage.
I did make one modification. The LMB approach to lighting the lower decks' portholes puts white plates directly through the black mounts - which produces an inconsistent effect when the ship is not lighted in the daytime. Although more tedious, it is simple enough with plenty of 1x2 bricks and plates (of any color - they will not be visible) to substitute for the long white bricks in the original build so that that the LMB porthole lighting can be set back behind the 1x2 rounded plates with holes, consistent with all of the unlit portholes. This produces a more consistent effect. I don't blame LMB for not defaulting to this, however - it's a bit of a pain!
Either way, you get a great result that is well worth it. Thank you LMB!
