Beautiful but frustrating build
I received the Snowglobe as part of of my Christmas present during the promotion. Since it was a small set and I was not enlisted for cooking Christmas Dinner this year, I assembled it the same day. This was the 5th LMB product we built and the first LMB 2.0 and also the first LMB creations set.
Once the build was completed, it looked stunning and it would probably be twice the price if it would be a standard Lego set without lights. It will be used for decoration every Christmas from now on, that is for sure! So the designers did an incredible job! I specifically loved the details of the presents, the bow on top and the little bag pieces. Something where LMB definitely outperforms Lego is the shade of gold they managed to create. It is beautifully sparkly and we compared it to the wrapper of a Ferrero Rocher and to (what we think might be) a gold Lego piece and it is stunning. I would probably buy them separately to replace some gold pieces on some Harry Potter sets, for example the egg on the Horntail.
The LMB 2.0 is also significantly better than 1.0. the flat cable design was easier to work with and none of the cables broke, which had happened during two previous light kits. It is very helpful that the cables are individually labelled, with 1.0 builds you sometimes swap a lot between types and the open bags might get mixed up easily. I also loved the D6 part as it’s fixed position in the build will be so much better than the previous sticky backs that often came loose.…
