Requires patience and tweezers - but well worth it.
If you've not used one of these kits before (I hadn't), here are some good things to know.
First, the electrical connectors are tiny. Like, take whatever you're picturing in your head and... that's too big. They're like 2mm across, max. Maybe 1.5mm. If you don't have perfect eyesight, these are tough to work with and take a lot of patience—and in my case, a pair of very fine tweezers. That said, they're also surprisingly sturdy. I felt like I was risking squishing the hair-thin wires when pushing the connectors in, but no—they were fine. Each set of wires is actually two distinct, insulated wires, very tightly braided together, and I think that's part of what helps them be so sturdy—much less risk of crimping them and shorting them out.
Lighting my Loop Coaster took about as long as building it in the first place. You're going to remove a LOT of pieces (especially the entire loading station), and a few of those don't get replaced. Yes, you can actually squish the wires between LEGO pieces—they don't short out, although the LEGO pieces won't go TOTALLY flush again.
The directions are worthy of LEGO itself—highly detailed, with tons of color photos and arrows to guide you. Just be patient, and make sure you're looking at the right thing before you proceed. You will need a broad, flat surface to work on, like a dining table; you'll need to either spin the coaster to get to the backside, or be able to circle it to do so.
