Beautiful but final product a bit cumbersome
The instructions were fairly easy to follow, but the lack of written descriptions did mean I made some mistakes that had to be fixed along the way and I'm still not sure I did it all correctly. There were no light checks embedded along the way like in some of the other sets, which I found odd. That meant the only connection to power was at the very end and some things did not light up so I had to troubleshoot to figure out where I had gone wrong. Another thing that was difficult was getting all the cables underneath Santa's sleigh at the end. I tried for so long to get that white panel on the underside of the sled to cover up the cables but it was very challenging to do and it's still not fully on, I hope it doesn't pop off. The bulk of the cables made it especially hard to get the white panel to snap on without snapping any of the cables. And finally the connecting cable that connects Santa's sled to the power source, coming from the workshop, is not long enough. There was barely any slack at all to flip the sled over at the end. I did finally manage, but it does mean the sled isn't moveable at all and is very close to the workshop. All this being said, it's still a wonderful little light kit. The fireplace doesn't light up like in some of the other ones, just putting that out there in case anyone is expecting it, but it's not a big deal.
